African Starter Hunting Package in South Africa in a 5-star Lodge

Experience a 7-day plains-game hunting safari in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, combining professionally guided hunting with full-board accommodation in a 5-star lodge. The package includes three trophy animals, with the hunter choosing one animal from each of the following groups: Group 1: Steenbok or Common/Grey Duiker Group 2: Impala, Blesbuck or Ostrich Group 3: Eastern Cape Kudu, Gemsbok/Oryx, Blue Wildebeest, Black Wildebeest or Burchell’s/Plains Zebra The species displayed as included in the marketplace represent one possible package configuration. The hunter is free to select one of the available alternatives within each group.

The trophy fees for the three selected animals are already included in the package price. The package also includes 7 days of full-board accommodation, pick-up and drop-off at Port Elizabeth Airport, hunting licence, 1:1 guided hunting with a registered and experienced Professional Hunter, rifle and ammunition for the booked package, daily housekeeping and laundry service, as well as the raw preparation of the included trophies and their delivery to a local taxidermist. Hunters wishing to further personalise their safari can add additional trophy animals according to the applicable trophy price list.

A wide variety of species is available, including Warthog, Waterbuck, Nyala, Sable, Cape Buffalo, Giraffe, Red Hartebeest, Springbok, Roan and many other African game species. Trophy fees for additional animals include raw trophy preparation, including skinning and salting, as well as transfer to the local taxidermist. Most additional game can be added during the client’s stay.

Cape Buffalo and Sable must, however, be booked in advance due to their limited annual availability. Certain species are subject to specific conditions. The Blue Duiker trophy fee excludes the required TOPS permit.

Cape Buffalo measuring 43 inches or more and Oribi are priced on agreement, while White Rhino is available according to a separate special price list on request. Several additional activities can also be arranged during the stay. A night-hunting trip is available for €250 per trip, with the applicable trophy fees charged separately according to the trophy price list.

Night hunting may include nocturnal species such as jackal, genet, caracal, porcupine and hare and can only be booked on site. Guests can also book a bird-hunting day for ducks, geese and guinea fowl for €400 per hunter per day. This activity is bookable only on site, and firearm and ammunition costs are not included.

For guests looking to complement their hunting safari with a different experience, a full-day deep-sea fishing trip in Port Elizabeth is available for €1,000 per day. Depending on weather and seasonal conditions, the Indian Ocean offers species ranging from Cape Salmon to Yellowfin Tuna, Snapper and Bonito. The package includes fishing equipment and bait, full catering and professional guiding.

The package price does not include international or domestic flights to and from South Africa, personal expenses and travel insurance, rifle and ammunition for additional trophy hunts, trophy fees for animals added beyond those included in the package, tips for staff and the Professional Hunter, excursions and entrance fees, taxidermy, or the transport and shipment of trophies to the hunter’s home country. This package offers a structured introduction to South African plains-game hunting while retaining considerable flexibility: hunters can select their preferred trophies within the three included groups and further customise their stay with additional species and activities.
